At Private Capital Group, we value the health and happiness of our employees. It’s common knowledge that holistic nutrition and regular physical activity contribute to a balanced, healthful lifestyle. But how do you stay on track?  Set manageable goals, such as commit to 30 minutes of moderate exercise per day, such as walking, taking a dance class, or maybe a yoga class on YouTube. Remember to properly hydrate, strengthen your immune system by learning more about the benefits of whole foods, vitamins and minerals that can improve your overall health, and embrace positivity. A healthy mental state can allow for clear decision-making and mitigate stress. So get up, get moving, enjoy life and smile!

With spring at our doorstep and health on our brains, PCG will welcome April with a happiness and wellness initiative. Our inaugural “Wealthness Challenge,” financial pun intended, will consist of spirited individual and team competitions. We’ve established a points system. To earn a point for the day, a PCG team member must complete 30 minutes of activity AND post proof of said activity (as you can see, we are not taking this lightly) using our internal communications platform. Activity may include anything that is a deliberate act of moving your body, such as, but not limited to, running, walking, biking, cycling, weight training, yoga, swimming, yard work, the possibilities are endless. PCG go-getters who successfully complete 20 consecutive days of activity will receive a custom PCG water tumbler. Overachieving team players who complete 25 days of activity will receive a PCG tumbler and have their inspirational new-found habit rewarded with a day off!

We’re all about superior client service, but to serve you better, we have to know each other and how best to work with and communicate with one another. In our newish mostly-remote workplace since the coronavirus pandemic swept our country over a year ago, PCG leadership creatively mapped out a plan to keep our family tight-knit, despite our differences in physical locations. Our cast of clever and astute staffers were randomly divided into three teams – red, blue and orange. Throughout the course of the year, all of us at PCG gather and the teams are pitted against one another – all with laughs and the intent to win superseding the name of the game, of course. Last month, a fierce take on Jeopardy ensued with the blue team earning the hard-fought victory. Not to be outdone, the red and orange teams are sure to be consorting as we set to embark on our Wealthness Challenge. At the end of the April, the total number of points each team receives will be totaled. Each member of the winning team will receive two weeks of Hello Fresh meal delivery service that surely will assist in the continuance of choosing to eat well and adopting a healthy lifestyle.

To build momentum and rally support, we are encouraging all PCG staff members to invite their significant others, spouses, family and friends to pledge to be active for the month of April. The buddy system provides built-in motivation and accountability – it never fails! It takes 21 days to create a habit – we’re hopeful our Wealthness Challenge is a jumpstart to a lifelong commitment.
