PCG’s Wealthness Challenge Recap & New May Challenge

April flew by for PCGers abuzz with activity. Our first Wealthness Challenge kicked off April 1, and for the entire month, our team members committed to fitness, nutrition and more healthful ways of life. Many partnered with activity buddies earning them bonus points daily. A fierce competition ensued, while smiles and laughs were shared all around. Exercise regimes ran a gamut, from weight training, yoga, figure skating, basketball, and daily walks with dogs to tennis, bicycling, YouTube workout classes, golf and pickleball. Turns out we’re an active bunch, and we’ll continue to set goals for ourselves and practice healthful lifestyles, including committing to regular physical exercise, which benefits our bodies and our brains.

Of course, as with every “friendly” competition, a winner emerges victorious. Even with valiant efforts by everyone – yes, everyone in our office participated – the Blue squad bested the Red and Orange teams to earn the title of Wealthness Challenge Champions. The four-member cadre, Marc Austin, Julie Lisischeff, Chris Izmirlian and Katie Mott, dominated by racking up 111 physically active days out of a possible 120. WOW! The Blue crew is now watching over their shoulders as Red and Orange plan to commandeer the leaderboard as more challenges are presented in the months ahead. Look out!

Individual scoresheets showed colleagues – we mean, athletic superstars - neck and neck until the very end. A photo finish like none other, Samantha Powers and Mary Rose Cusick tied by completing 30 full days with various activity and engaging a partner, or few, who matched the feat. Maybe there’s something to be said for having young children who are Go! Go! Go!

There are rules to every game, and our Wealthness Challenge was no exception. Our No. 1 requirement was every player had to post a photo verifying his or her completed activity for the day. We’ve compiled some of the best showcasing our various levels of sport with our families, friends, significant others and pets.

You’re welcome to view the video by clicking the link below; please enjoy and please keep in mind, we’re definitely more a team-minded cast, but selfies poured in. There’s no arguing direct evidence!

As Blue’s imaginary ticker tape is slowly disappearing from our remote offices, all of us walked away with feelings of great accomplishment and reinvigorated camaraderie. It’s not every day you get to see Ben Kille powerlifting one-pound dumbbells, and the Wealthness Challenge certainly bolstered our One Team spirit among all our players. We hope our month-long contest inspired you to get moving, try something new or stay the course of activity you’ve already established.

While we may be sad to say goodbye to our Wealthness Challenge, our resident doer of all good things, Katie Mott, developed a program to celebrate environmental consciousness firm-wide during the month of May. As a country, we commemorate Earth Day in April. But one day is not enough to preserve and care for our world. We must consistently show love and can use the 5Rs, Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose and Recycle, as our guide. We at PCG know the importance of preserving your legacy, whether it’s financial security, a life well-lived, or by helping to ensure that future generations have clean air and water and an earth nurtured to sustain. Every effort helps and we’re committed to turning small changes into big improvements.

All of us at PCG are excited to learn and grow during our What’s Your Earth Worth? Challenge (#WYEW) while competing for special eco-friendly individual and team prizes, as well as a highly coveted Grand Prize! In keeping with our “the proof is in the pudding” requirement, each day every participating team member must post a photo of an eco-friendly action step he or she is taking to our internal communication board, encouraging an enviro-sensitive buddy to make great strides as well for extra points. We’ll be sure to recap when the challenge ends, but our dedication to a cause that benefits all life will stand at attention.

What are your tips and tricks for being eco-friendly? We’d love to hear them, so don’t hesitate to email your advisor or give us a call. We plan to build a wealth of knowledge along the way, and we encourage you to take intentional steps to preserve our planet this month and beyond.

Enjoy your weekend and remember – #healthiswealth and #WYEW!
